26     GRADUATE STUDIES OFFICE (GSO)

26.1

The head of the Graduate Studies Office (GSO) shall not be less than an Associate Professor.

26.2

The Graduate Studies Office shall serve as the secretariate of the Advance Studies & Research Board (AS&RB). AS&RB shall be responsible for the quality of all the graduate degree programs being offered by the university, as well as the research that shall be conducted under these programs.

26.3

The Graduate Studies Office shall prepare a graduate Studies Prospectus, describing the complete process for award of a graduate degree and ensuring that the booklet shall be available for guidance of all graduate students

26.4
The Graduate Studies Office shall monitor and ensure that thesis/dissertation is progressing in accordance with the time prescribed in the booklet. It includes, but is not limited to, the timely approval of the research synopsis, evaluation of the research thesis/dissertation in accordance with the HEC guidelines as well as its submission, and finally the conduct of open defense.
