Provides administrative coordination within academic affairs of departments, faculties, centers, institutes and all relevant offices to accomplish the mission of UoB: postgraduate education.
Oversees and coordinates all postgraduate programs at UoB.
Keeps the Maintenance of postgraduate student records and periodic reports for monitoring the progress of student.
Administers the academic processes and events within the Graduate Studies office including monitoring of students' programs of Study, management of students’ completion of research requirements (i.e., synopsis, presentation, publication, thesis).
Coordinate & forward the grievances, appeals of the students, departments, institutes and centres for permission to relevant board/committee.
Serve as a liaison between the departments, centres, intitutes and AS&RB, referring matters to the faculty or its committees as needed; informing the faculty of graduate education related policies, deadlines, and programs as appropriate; and forwarding recommendations, nominations, and other information from the faculty to the appropriate board/committee.
Serves as a point of contact for postgraduate students, departments, faculties, centers and AS&RB members.
Serve as a postgraduate program's representative on university governance committees, as appropriate.
Enforces regulations of the university and implementation of AS&RB minutes at post graduate-level course curricular changes, new graduate program approvals and policy development.
Promotes and stimulates academic research working in collaboration with departments, faculties, centers, institutes and relevant offices.
Serves on various internal and external committees as directed by the Registrar.
Promotes a positive image and maintains effective relationships for the Office of the Registrar by representing the office at various meetings, communicating with university personals, faculty, staff, and students in matters related to post graduate academic affairs.
Ensures that miscellaneous assignments related to post graduate academic affairs are completed in the best interest of the University by accepting and accomplishing tasks, which are delegated by the Registrar.
Provides written criteria to each student, upon entry, of what constitutes acceptable progress through the program and the grounds for the student’s termination from it.
Orients and counsels post graduate students with respect to program and degree requirements until a permanent supervisor is selected and assist as necessary.
Facilitates a program of professional development activities for graduate students within the program.
Provide periodic reports on the program and data to the Registrar Office.
